Wrongly Imprisoned Man Seeks Compensation

William Dillon, who was wrongly convicted and imprisoned for twenty-seven years, is now seeking compensation. Dillon is seeking roughly one million dollars in state compensation for his wrongful imprisonment, although a prior felony drug conviction means that he will have to battle lawmakers for the money.

A hearing regarding this matter took place at a court in Tallahassee, although Dillon said that it is impossible to put a dollar amount on his freedom. Dillon was convicted in the murder of James Dvorak in 1981. He was released from Brevard County Jail last November when DNA tests showed that organic matter found on the victim’s shirt, which was used to convict him, did not in fact belong to him.
