White House Reports 650,000 Stimulus Jobs
The White House has said that new reports for the number of jobs directly saved or created by the stimulus package have reached about 650,000. Members of a government oversight board released the numbers on Friday.
Jared Bernstein, White House economic advisor, said that the figures have been reported to officials. When the jobs created or saved by the $288 billion in tax cuts, Bernstein reports that the stimulus plan is responsible for saving roughly one million jobs.
