UK Hacker’s Extradition Appeal Fails
The British man who was accused of hacking into American military computers has had his latest bid to avoid extradition to the United States. Gary McKinnon has been charged with breaking into dozens of NASA computers as well as infiltrating the United States Defense Department after the September 11th terrorist attacks. Prosecutor have been seeking his extradition for seven years.
The forty-three-year-0ld claims that he was searching for alien life, though prosecutors say that he left a message on one of the Army’s computers criticizing America’s foreign policy. Lord Justice Stanley Burnton said that the extradition was “a lawful and proportionate response” to the alleged crimes.
