Two Teens Charged with Ca. Girl’s Death

Two teenagers have been charged as adults in the death of a sixteen-year-old girl who was shot last month after a high school football game in Long Beach. Los Angeles County prosecutors say that Tom Love Vinson and Daivon Davis, both sixteen and neither of whom attend the high school, were charged on Friday with a count of murder each and two counts each of attempted murder.

Police reported that Melony Ross, an honor student, was an innocent bystander. She was shot when two groups of gang members had a confrontation at Woodrow Wilson High School on October 30th. She later died at the high school. Two other men, one eighteen, one twenty, were hospitalized as a result of the shooting but are expected to make recoveries. The suspects are currently each being held on bail for three million dollars. They will be arraigned on Friday.
