Two Officers Shot in NY Apartment Building

Two New York police officers were shot when they responded to an emergency call in an apartment building. Their injuries do not appear to be life-threatening. A police spokesperson reported that the officers were fired upon when they interrupted a home invasion in Rochester on Tuesday night. The officers were wearing protective vests, and were hit in their upper bodies. It is unclear whether they returned fire.

The officers were taken to the hospital. Their names have not been released. Investigators have closed off the area while they search for those who committed the shooting.
