Suspect Arrested for Flu Vaccine Theft

A Milwaukee man has been arrested for stealing a truck carrying nine hundred doses of a swine flu vaccine. The suspect is a thirty-eight-year-old man with a previous criminal record. Authorities are currently searching for two other men who were seen in the vehicle with him. The truck was stolen on Thursday night while idling outside a swine flu clinic.

Authorities located the truck almost an hour later, after it was abandoned with the vaccines apparently undisturbed. A witness led authorities to the suspect, who was leaving a liquor store. City health official Raquel Filmanowicz says even if the vaccine hasn’t been tampered with, it’s still considered “compromised” because it was out of city possession. She says it can no longer be used.
