Sentencing in Florida Gang Rape Case

The three people convicted in the gang rape attack on a Florida woman and the beating of her son will be sentenced on Tuesday. Jakaris Taylor, age seventeen, Tommy Poindexter, age twenty, and Nathan Walker, age eighteen, could all face sentences of life in prison at their hearing.

The three were convicted in August and September. All three of them were teenagers at the time of the attack, but were charged as adults due to the nature of the crime. A fourth suspect who pleaded guilty will be sentenced in December. Authorities say that the three teens entered the thirty-five-year-old woman’s home in West Palm Beach, raping her repeatedly with up to six other teens, and forcing the woman to perform oral sex on her twelve-year-old son.
