Richmond, California Gang Rape Arrests Growing
The total number of people arrested in the Richmond, California gang rape of a fifteen-year-old girl has grown to six, and authorities say it could go higher. Jose Carlos Montano, eighteen, was arrested on Thursday evening outside his home in San Pablo. He is being held on a bail of $1.3 million, on suspicion of rape, rape in concert with force, and other charges, Richmond police said.
Authorities are still looking for suspects, and reported that as many as ten people between the age of fifteen and twenty-five may have attacked the girl for over two hours last Saturday. Montano’s arrest was after three suspects appeared in court for the first time on Thursday. Cody Ray Smith, fifteen, pleaded not guilty, and Ari Abdallah Morales, sixteen, and Marcelles James Peter, seventeen, did not enter pleas.
