Pregnant Teen Fatally Shot at Bus Stop in NC

A pregnant fifteen-year-old girl that was waiting for her school bus was fatally shot in North Carolina today. Victim Tiffany Wright was shot in the head in Charlotte NC and died shortly after being rushed to the hospital.  Her baby was delivered alive but not expected to survive. She was 32 weeks along and attending Hawthorne High School, an alternative school with a program for  expectant teens.

Investigators do not know what caused the shooting and as of yet do not have any suspects.  They are currently trying to determine if the shooting was random or not.

The incident occurred shortly after a relative of Wrights dropped her off at the stop.  The man said he was on his way back home when he heard the gunshot.  He ran back to the area where the girl was standing and found her lying in the street.

Investigation into the incident is ongoing.
