Patient Accused of Shooting Doctor at Clinic
A patient that made threats after being denied narcotics at a Kentucky clinic later returned and fatally shot his doctor, authorities say. Forty-six-year-old John Combs has been charged with murder in the slaying of Dr. Dennis Sandlin on Tuesday. Combs had been a patient earlier in the day, then returned later and shot the fifty-seven-year-old physician.
Police have not yet released a motive. They say that Combs had asked for narcotics but when he was asked to give a urine sample, he refused. “From that point, he got real angry, he just went crazy, and he made a threat he was going to come back and blow up the building,” said Sam Mullins, who responded when the clinic called about the threat.
