Oregon Man Accused of Setting Up Group Sex Assault
A man in Oregon has been accused of several sex crimes involving two teenagers and a four-year-old girl. Police reported that he used the internet to get people to have group sex with one of the victims. Darrin Vaughn Daily, aged forty-four, faces multiple charges and is being held on a bail of one million dollars. Representatives of the Newberg-Dundee Police Department reported that they searched Daily’s apartment and found evidence after a fifteen-year-old girl told them Daily had given her marijuana and alcohol and then had sex with her.
Another girl, aged fourteen, told police Daily had sexually abused her and taken photographs. She told police Daily tied her up and took photographs of men having group sex with her. She also told police Daily took photographs of his dog having sex with her. Police searched Daily’s computer and found images that confirmed all of this, as well as evidence of a four-year-old girl being sexually abused.
Sergeant Tim Weaver of the Newberg-Dundee Police Department said that in his three decades as a police officer he had never seen a case like this. “This is certainly at the top of the list of hideous crimes,” Weaver said.
Police found the four-year-old girl, who later told police that Daily had sexually abused her. She is currently staying at a child abuse assessment center where she will undergo treatment and therapy.
Three men, Patricio Moreno, forty-three, Robert D. Thompson, thirty-four, and David Garcia, forty-one, are charged with responding to the ad on Craigslist and taking part in the sexual abuse. They have been jailed in Yamhill county, but Garcia posted bail. Police are currently seeking a woman who has been accused of sexually abusing one of the girls.
Daily has been accused of various crimes, including rape, sodomy, sexual abuse, sexual assault of an animal, delivery of marijuana to a minor, online sexual corruption of a child, endangering the welfare of a minor and using a child in a display of sexually explicit conduct.
Thompson, Garcia, and Moreno have all been charged with third-degree rape, and Thompson faces an additional charge of using a child in a display of sexually explicit conduct, and Moreno is accused of sodomy.
