New York Father Sues for Son’s Hazing Death
A father in New York City has sued a group of college students accused of providing his son with so much alcohol during a hazing at a banned college fraternity that the student died. Sophomore Arman Partamian, aged nineteen, was found dead on March 1st after drinking heavily for three days in order to gain membership to an unsanctioned fraternity at the State University of New York in Geneseo.
The wrongful death lawsuit filed includes two and a half million dollars in compensation from the six young men and two co-owners of the fraternity property. Two former members of the fraternity have also been charged with hazing and criminally negligent homicide. A third former member has pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge in return for three months of weekends in jail.
