NC Woman Sentenced for Dunking Son in Boiling Water
A North Carolina woman has been sentenced to prison for dunking her thirty-three-month-old son in boiling water and burning him with a cigarette. Authorities say that twenty-tw0-year-old Tabitha Rich pleaded guilty to two felony counts of inflicting serious injury to her son, and received a sentence of twenty-five to thirty-nine months for each count.
Prosecutors say that Rich dunked her son in a pot of boiling water as punishment for his being constipated. He also had a cigarette burn on his left foot, as well as other injuries.
