Missing Girl’s Mother Faces Court Appearance

The mother of a missing North Carolina girl is expected to appear in court. She has been accused of offering her five-year-old daughter for prostitution. Authorities are continuing their search for Shaniya Davis, who was reported missing by her mother on Tuesday. Police arrested twenty-five-year-old Antoinette Davis on Saturday on charges of human trafficking, felony child abuse involving prostitution, and filing a false police report.

A surveillance camera recorded a man carrying Shaniya into a hotel room thirty miles from her home a short time after she was reported missing. Police say the man, Mario Andrette McNeill, is being charged in the girl’s kidnapping. McNeill says he does not know where the child is.
