Missing Florida Girl Baffles Investigators

Investigators are still at a loss three days after the disappearance of a seven-year-old girl in Northern Florida. Somer Thompson’s mother went on all three network national morning news shows on Tuesday with an emotional appeal for the child’s return. She said she assumes that her daughter was kidnapped.

Sheriff Rick Beseler appeared with the mother, Dina Thompson, and said that investigators currently have no clues as to the child’s whereabouts. He told the CBS “Early Show” that officers have interviewed over seventy-five known sex offenders in a five-mile area. Somer Thompson vanished from her home on Monday. Investigators suspect foul play.
