Michigan Man Gets 45 Days for Biting Boy’s Face

A Michigan man has been sentenced to forty-five days in jail for biting the face of his girlfriend’s five-year-old son. Randall Kirk McGee of North Muskegon pleaded no contest to last month’s charge of third-degree child abuse. The thirty-seven-year-old man was sentenced on Tuesday in the Muskegon County Circuit Court. Police said that McGee bit the boy on February 11th. According to McGee’s girlfriend, her son bit McGee while he was trying to help the boy brush his teeth, and McGee bit him back.

School officials who discovered the bite contacted Child Protective Services and the police. Authorities say that the boy said it was the only time McGee had physically hurt him. McGee’s girlfriend told a local paper in an interview that the biting was a “nonabusive act of discipline.”
