Man Suspected of Killing Wife, Kids

An ex-city official who lost his job when he was accused of killing his wife and children is facing charges of having fatally shot her and their teenage daughters. James Kraig Kahler was arrested on Sunday on suspicion of three counts of capital murder, the attorney general of Kansas said in a statement. He is accused of the murder of his forty-four-year-old wife, Karen, and their eighteen and sixteen-year-old daughters, Emily and Lauren.

He is also accused of attempted first-degree murder for the shooting of his wife’s eighty-nine-year-old grandmother, Dorothy Wight. The bodies were discovered in Wight’s home on Saturday night.
