Man Asks to be Deported, Can’t Afford U.S.

Members of the Framingham, Mass. Police Department recently reported that an illegal immigrant from Guatemala entered their police station, telling officers that he had stolen another man’s identity. He asked to be deported because he could no longer afford to live in the United States. Officials say that twenty-nine-year-old Carlos Boc was arrested after his confession.

Lt. Paul Shastany reported that Boc informed police that he wanted to return to Guatemala but could not afford a ticket. He also said that he had no money or job and was concerned about his ability to survive the coming winter. He confessed that he had illegally immigrated to the United States about thirteen years ago. Boc currently faces a charge of identity theft.
