London Police Settle with Killed Brazilian’s Family
The London police force has reached a settlement with the family of a Brazilian man who was shot after being mistaken for a terrorist. Both sides issued statements, saying they were happy the litigation was over and that they reached a settlement. The settlement amount will not be disclosed by either side.
Jean Charles de Menezes was killed by British police officers on July 22nd, 2005. Police were looking for terror suspects involved in an attack on the city’s transit system a day before. The family said that the settlement will allow them to move forward with their lives.
