Gamestop to Hire 15,000 Seasonal Workers
GameStop Inc. is planning to hire roughly fifteen thousand seasonal, part-time workers to help with the holiday rush, the video game retailer said on Tuesday. The company expects more applicants for the minimum-wage jobs than in previous years due to the economic crisis that has left millions unemployed. GameStop typically hires temporary employees in the fall, up until December 24th, and said that the seasonal hiring of part-time workers is “consistent with” its seasonal hiring in 2008 and 2007.
This hiring process will temporarily increase the company’s employee base by almost fifty percent.
