Four Ca. Cops on Leave After Beating Student
The San Jose Police Department says that four of its officers present at the beating of an unarmed student have been placed on leave. A cell phone video showed police repeatedly striking twenty-year-old Phuong Ho in the incident on September 3rd. The video prompted a criminal investigation.
San Jose Police Chief Rob Davis said that officers Kenneth Siegel, Steven Payne Jr., Jerome Smith and Gabriel Reyes have been placed on paid leave. Ho was reportedly struck with a baton and tased because he resisted.
