Fort Hood Suspect Charged with Murder
The suspect in the Fort Hood shooting spree has been charged with thirty-two counts of attempted premeditated murder. These charges come in addition to the thirteen counts of premeditated murder that were filed against Maj. Nidal Hasan following the massacre at Fort Hood on November 5th. An Army spokesperson said that the charges filed on Wednesday are related to the thirty soldiers and two civilian officers that were injured in the shooting.
Hasan’s defense attorney, John Galligan, says that the additional charges might not affect Hasan’s punishment if he is convicted, because premeditated murder carries a death sentence.
