Ex-NYC Cop Plans Guilty Plea
Former New York Police Commissioner Bernard Kerik plans to plead guilty just days before beginning a series of trials. A person close to the case said that Kerik is expected to enter a guilty plea that would resolve three pending federal criminal trials in which he has been indicted with corruption, tax fraud, and lying to the White House.
This anonymous person told the Associated Press that the plea deal could put Kerik, fifty-four, in prison for more than two years. The source was not authorized to discuss plea negotiations publicly and spoke on condition of anonymity. Kerik’s attorney would not confirm a plea agreement.
