Dugard Kidnap Suspect Apologizes from Jail

The man accused of kidnapping Jaycee Dugard issued an apology from his jail cell in the form of a letter. The letter, which arrived at the San Francisco television station KCRA on Thursday, contained references to “a sexual problem believed to be impossible.” Phillip Garrido also said in the letter that he wants to “apologize to every human being for what has taken place.”

Both Garrido and his wife, Nancy, have been charged with kidnapping. They are accused of holding her in their backyard for over eighteen years. Both have pleaded not guilty.
