DC Sniper to Die Next Month

Convicted sniper John Allen Muhammed is set to be executed by lethal injection next month. Larry Traylor, spokesperson for the Virginia Department of Corrections, said that Muhammed declined to choose between lethal injection and electrocution, so the method according to state law defaults to lethal injection.

Muhammed has been scheduled to be executed on November 10th for the slaying of Dean Harold Meyers in October 2002. He was also convicted of a string of shootings responsible for claiming the lives of ten people and wounding three. Muhammed’s co-defendant, a teenager, is currently serving a life sentence.
