Casey Anthony Lawyers Try to Block Death Penalty

Attorneys for a Florida mother who was charged with killing her two-year-old daughter will ask a judge to halt prosecutors from seeking the death penalty. Casey Anthony’s case has a hearing scheduled for Friday morning. Anthony has been charged with first-degree murder in the slaying of her daughter, Caylee. Caylee’s body was found six months after she was reported missing.

Anthony pleaded not guilty to the charges, and prosecutors have said they will have to ask for the death penalty if she is convicted.
