California Man Blows Off Hand While Mixing Explosives

Authorities recently investigating a man who blew off four of his fingers while illegally mixing explosives discovered that the residence not only contained a sophisticated marijuana-growing operation, but doubled as a daycare center. Benjamin Kuzelka, age twenty-three, entered a local hospital and told medical staff he had shot himself in the hand. The wound was inconsistent with a gunshot injury, so the staff called authorities. Upon investigating, authorities found explosives, a marijuana-growing facility, and evidence that the home had been used as a children’s day-care center as early as the day before.

Sergeant Dennis Gutierrez reported that Kuzelka’s mother, Rebecca Kuzelka, and his brother, Greg Kuzelka, have both been arrested on charges of of manufacturing illegal explosives, growing marijuana illegally, and child endangerment. Gutierrez also said, “We do believe that when all this illegal activity was going on, that children were present.”
