California Lawyer Arrested for 1989 Killing

Authorities recently arrested a Southern California lawyer for the murder of the daughter of his girlfriend over twenty years ago. Authorities say that Eric Fagan, seventy-four, was arrested Wednesday at his home in Chula Vista and is being held without bail on suspicion of murder and attempted murder. Authorities say he shot and killed Cathy Paternoster and wounded Carl Fuerst outside their home in Spring Valley Lake in 1989.

The San Bernadino County Sheriff’s Department reported that the killing was due to the fact that Fagan’s girlfriend wanted custody of her daughter’s child. Fagan has written several books on Internet dating and finding a soul mate. He has not yet commented.
